Come and stand next to one.
No photograph tells you what a 500kg animal with a metre of horn feels like when it walks up and puts its head against you. That's what an open day is for.
How it works
Four times a year, Saturday morning, two to three hours. Free. Limited to 30–50 people so it stays a conversation rather than a tour group.
We walk the fold, you meet the animals, you ask whatever you want. Nobody is selling anything on the day — no order forms, no deposits taken, no "this one's got a lot of interest". It's a comfort-building morning, and if you leave certain that a Highland is not for you, the day worked.
Open days are for waitlist members, because that's the fairest way to allocate limited places. Joining is free and takes a minute.

Individual visits
If you've been allocated an animal.
Buyers with an animal allocated to them are welcome to visit by appointment — 30 to 45 minutes, any time between allocation and pickup. Handle her, lead her, watch her load. Bring the person who's going to be feeding her.
We'd honestly rather you came twice than not at all. An animal that has already met its owner travels better on the day, and an owner who has already led her is a great deal more confident at the other end.
We're not open to drop-in visits outside those two arrangements. It's a working property with quarantine paddocks and young stock, and unannounced visitors are a biosecurity problem rather than a nuisance. Email us and we'll find a time.
